Hi Jessica,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. I like your 2-year-old’s style! Moana’s adventurous spirit, determination, and empathy make her one of my favorites too.
Currently, Moana is out wayfinding and is not available to meet at Walt Disney World Resort. I know Cinderella Castle calls her, because she has been spotted in Magic Kingdom Park for some special events, and she used to meet Guests in Disney’s Hollywood Studios before she headed back out to sea. If you’re visiting in October, you might want to look at the character listing for
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party when it’s announced, as I did spot Moana at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party last year. Since October is a long way away, be sure to follow the
Disney Parks Blog for any announcements about Moana’s return.
Jessica, there is a cute shop on the second floor of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort called Moana Mercantile, which sells Disney merchandise, including lots of Moana items. You can’t meet Moana there at this time, but your little one might enjoy looking around, and you can stop at Pineapple Lanai downstairs for a delicious Dole Whip while you’re visiting the resort.
My favorite current Moana feature in the parks right now is her scene in the Happily Ever After fireworks show. Scenes from Moana are projected on Cinderella castle while her song is played, all with the amazing backdrop of the castle and fireworks. I cry every time! Maybe you could get a cute Moana-themed treat to eat at the Main Street Confectionery for her to enjoy during the fireworks to add that little bit of Moana magic.
Wishing you a pixie-dusted vacation,
Robyn
