I will be going to Disneyworld June 20-27 with 6 others and staying at Jambo House. When should I purchase the tickets for the parks?

Hey there, Kim. Welcome to planDisney

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is such a fun place to stay. I just love waking up and enjoying a morning beverage on the balcony overlooking the animals. There are over 200 animals that call the lodge home so you never know what you'll see which makes it that much more exciting!

There isn't a right or wrong answer when it comes to when you should buy your tickets. You can do it anytime between now and your trip. However, I recommend doing it sooner rather than later because, on top of tickets, you'll also need to make park pass reservations. Park pass reservations are basically like a virtual placeholder in line at the Walt Disney World Theme Park you'd like to visit each day. There is only a certain number of park pass reservations distributed for each park each day. So when they are gone, they are gone. Now, occasionally spots do open up here and there when people drop their reservations to go to another park but that requires constant checking on the theme park availability calendar. Park pass reservations for June should be wide open and so you'll get to plan out your itinerary just how you would like.  The closer you get to your travel date, the more limited the options will be.

I hope this helps, Kim. If you have any other planning questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help.

    Happy holidays!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
