    We are going to DisneyWorld in July this year and my 7 year old wants to wear a costume but it will be so hot. Can you recommend a costume that would be cool??

    Isn't it just the fantasy of every boy and girl to be their favorite Disney Character when they are right in the middle of all of the magic at Walt Disney World?  Okay, I confess, it might be the fantasy of some "older" boys and girls, too!

    Yes, July can be pretty hot in the Parks.  But you would be surprised what a child is willing to endure in order to make their wishes come true.  It's tough to watch them turn miserable in the sweltering heat, though.  Thankfully, there are plenty of great air-conditioned attractions you can escape to in order to cool off from time to time if they insist upon wearing that "Sully from Monsters, Inc." costume!

    You didn't mention if your child is a boy or girl, so I'll just throw out some ideas for both.  In the Disney Princess category, Tinkerbell and Ariel seem to have the coolest collection of costumes.  In the Pirate category, Peter Pan is pretty cool, and you could even do a cooler version of Jack Sparrow by "tearing" the sleeves so they would be short (like Jack had just come from a sword fight!).

    Most of the store-bought costumes are going to be quite hot for most of the characters.  However, if your child is adventurous and enjoys being creative, I'm sure the two of you could design your own costume with some unique variations.  Disney's Family Fun magazine always has some incredible ideas around the Halloween season, which I'm sure you can look up on their website.
