Hi, we are going to DisneyWorld during my son's 4th birthday. We really want him to be able to have a cake but my son has a peanut allergy. Since it is outsourced, they can't guarantee it won't be made on shared equipment. What can we do?

    Hi, Susan!

This is a trick I used to do in pre-school with my kids because I always worried about peanuts.  I would buy a box of individual wrapped snack cupcakes from the store (buy them at home and toss them in your suitcase).  Choose a brand that you know is peanut free.   When it is time for the big singing of "Happy Birthday" each guest at your table can get their own cupcake and you have an instant party!  Perhaps ask your server if they have any Mickey sprinkles that you can toss on the plate under the cupcake.  You can even bring a candle to put into your birthday boy's cupcake for a special touch.

I know my kids love any type of cupcake, and they do not care if it I spent hours baking or they are store bought!  Send your son with and adult to the restroom, and while they are gone, set up the quick party.  Maybe even bring along some party hats to add to the festivities!

Keep it fun and take lots of pictures of your darling little guy's 4th birthday.  Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
