Is DisneyWorld more crowded during florida schools' spring break? I am booking the week of March 16th but realized it is spring break in Florida and now I'm concerned about the crowds!!

    Hi Lori,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am delighted to hear that you are planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort in March.

Although the parks could likely be more crowded, we have gone during the week of Christmas which is quite busy and had a wonderful time. The key is to plan. If your trip is this upcoming March, I suggest that you book your vacation package so that you can start making advanced dining reservations. We always make our advanced dining reservations 180 days in advance, especially for character meals. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, you can also make your FastPass+ selections 60 days in advance.

During busy seasons, we choose our resort hotel wisely, looking for one that has several transportation options when we know the parks and resorts will be crowded. On our trip this past December, for example, we stayed at Disney's BoardWalk Villas because we wanted to be able to walk to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. On other trips, we stayed at Disney's Contemporary Resort so that we could walk to Magic Kingdom and also had access to great restaurants located at other resorts along the Resort Monorail line. When we choose to stay at resort hotels with just one transportation option, I budget for a ride share service like Lyft or Uber a few times during the trip if we need to get to early morning dining reservations or we need to get from one park to another quickly.

Lori, in the past, I used to check a few crowd calendars online to see what the anticipated crowd levels would be for the dates of my visit. Now having gone during all kinds of busy seasons, I can honestly say that we plan and we make it! Be sure that you have downloaded the My Disney Experience Mobile App so that you can track and modify plans while in the parks and resorts. Finally, check out the Epcot® International Flower & Garden Festival when you visit - our girls adore the topiary displays!

    Magic and memories,
