Hiya, Matthew, and welcome to planDisney!
That’s a Bibbidi Bobbidi Bummer that you didn’t receive your credit before your last vacation, but I love that you’re exploring options for how to use it for a future trip! I verified with a
Disney Cruise Line representative that the only payments accepted onboard are Disney Gift Cards or major credit cards. To discover where exactly you can use the merchandise credit within Disney Parks, they suggested replying to the email that you received for specifics.
The happy news is that you can convert Disney gift cards into onboard credit; onboard credits can be used to cover anything that you charge to your stateroom. Once onboard, simply bring your Disney gift cards to Guest Services to have their balance applied to your account. If you wish to purchase onboard credit before your sailing, visit the ‘Onboard Gifts’ section by
locating your reservation under ‘Already Booked’ and then navigating to ‘Shop by Category’ to find ‘Onboard Credit’.
One thing that streamlined paying for all the fun extras on my last cruise vacation was using
DisneyBand+. Depending on what ship you’re sailing on, not only can it open your stateroom door, it also lets you pay for decadent treats (like my nightly matcha from the Cove Café before dinner) and fun souvenirs from
Mickey’s Mainsail. Plus it's rechargeable and waterproof!
I hope this helps in your planning for your next Disney Cruise. If you have any further questions that pop up, please sail back to us here at
planDisney.
Bon voyage,
Sami
