Hi Disneyland, I will be celebrating my 70th Birthday at Disneyland this summer. Any ideas for things I can do to make it extra special? Thankyou! Carol

Greetings Carol, and welcome to planDisney. First of all, happy early birthday to you! With the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration kicking off soon, your special day is sure to be extra enchanting. I'm excited to help you plan a memorable birthday visit!

Start your celebration by picking up a complimentary birthday button when you arrive at the park. You can usually find these at retail locations, City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A., and Guest Services on Buena Vista Street. Wearing one often brings warm greetings from Cast Members, Characters, and even fellow Guests throughout your day!

The 70th Anniversary festivities offer a fantastic lineup of entertainment, including favorites like Paint the Night, Wondrous Journeys, and an all-new World of Color show. For a bit of added fun, consider booking a dining package, which includes a delicious meal and premier seating for a selected show. The World of Color Dessert Party, in particular, could be a delightful treat for your birthday night!

A sit-down meal with friends or family is another lovely way to celebrate. The Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake is available at a handful of dining locations. This delightful and indulgent treat serves four to six Guests and would be a fun, celebratory finale to your meal. It's a good idea to request the cake when booking your dining reservation, ideally at least three days ahead. You can also ask about availability at the host podium on the day of your visit, although same-day orders aren't always guaranteed.

As you explore the parks, keep an eye out for birthday-themed touches in attractions. The end of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh includes a charming birthday scene, and in the Haunted Mansion’s ballroom, you’ll spot a ghostly guest blowing out candles on a cake. A whimsical spin on the Mad Tea Party also fits the theme – you may even encounter the Mad Hatter celebrating an “unbirthday" with Alice!

And since it’s a special birthday year for you, Carol, please treat yourself! The Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration merchandise collection, featured on the Disney Parks Blog, includes some beautiful items showcasing the number “70.” It would be a perfect souvenir from your birthday visit.

Lastly, if you're staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, you can add a touch of pixie dust right from the start by pre-ordering an in-room celebration. Choose from a selection of gifts featuring Disney Characters, tasty treats, and themed balloon arrangements that are magically set up in your room before you arrive. There are special offers on hotel stays right now for the 70th Anniversary Celebration – check them out!

Carol, on behalf of all of us at planDisney, I'd like to wish you a wonderful birthday filled with joy, laughter, and Disney magic. Feel free to reach out if you need more planning tips – we’re always happy to help!
