My Disneyland/CA Adventure trip is scheduled for the week AFTER Memorial Day. What theme can I expect to see?

    Hi Joann,

Thanks for visiting planDisney! The Disneyland Resort is always celebrating something, so it’s always a good idea to check what's happening so you know what to expect during your visit.

We can use the 2025 Event Calendar as a guide for what to anticipate in 2026:

    * Lunar New Year – Mid-Jan to Mid-Feb (Disney California Adventure)
    * Celebrate Gospel – Select dates in February (Disneyland)
    * Food & Wine Festival – Late February to Late April (Disney California Adventure)
    * Season of the Force – March 28 to Early May (Disneyland)
    * 70th Anniversary Celebration – Through Summer 2026 (Resort-wide)
    * Halloween Time – Late August to October 31 (Resort-wide)
    * Plaza de la Familia – Late August to Early November (Disney California Adventure)
    * The Holidays Begin – Mid-November to Early January (Resort-wide)
    * Festival of Holidays – Mid-November to Early January (Disney California Adventure)

Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer and falls during the last days of May. In 2026, we’re hoping to see the Disneyland Resort in full swing for the 70th Anniversary Celebration. I absolutely loved the bright colors of the “Celebrate Happy” theme! As a self-proclaimed picture girly, I had to snag a photo with Mickey and all his friends. Thank goodness for Disney PhotoPass photographers; I have so many wonderful memories to look back on!

Currently, Tapestry of Happiness and World of Color Happiness! are slated to continue throughout the Halloween and Holiday season. However, a lot of the 70th Entertainment will be paused, and we have yet to receive an official return date. However, we anticipate that Disneyland may welcome back:

    * The Celebrate! Cavalcade (Paused starting at Halloween Time)
    * Paint the Night Parade (Paused starting when the Holidays Begin)
    * Wondrous Journeys fireworks show (Paused starting at Halloween Time)

Over at Disney California Adventure, we expect the return of the Better Together Parade (Paused starting at Halloween Time).

I recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for the official 2026 Event Calendar with more specific dates as they're announced.

I hope this helps with your planning, Joann! If you have any more questions or need a little extra pixie dust, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists. We’re always here to help make your Disney dreams come true!

    Happy planning!
