Hello, Kami!
A birthday at Disneyland Park is the BEST! We just took my son on his birthday and he had so much fun. I'd love to share some of the things we did to make his day extra special!
First, you'll want to pick up a complimentary birthday button for your niece! You can stop by
Guest Relations at City Hall in Disneyland Park and they'll personalize it just for her. My son wore his the whole day and was delighted every time someone called his name and said "Happy Birthday!" I thought it was especially sweet that other guests would wish him a happy day, too!
Next, I would head to the
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique to get a sprinkle of pixie dust (my son opted to skip this suggestion on his birthday, but my daughter loves it). Just ask one of the Fairy Godmother's Apprentices and they will make sure you absolutely sparkle with happy thoughts. This would also be a great place to buy a special accessory (like a tiara!) for the birthday girl.
Let's talk about birthday treats! If you have a
dining reservation then of course you should order dessert. If you can't find a reservation you're interested in, don't worry! There is no shortage of birthday-worthy snacks and treats in the parks.
Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen often features delicious cupcakes, or you could go for a cold treat from
Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor! I would choose a treat and then find a spot to watch the
"Magic Happens" Parade. We found a shady spot near City Hall a few weeks ago that was great! If you get a front-row seat then some of the performers in the parade might send birthday wishes to your niece, too!
My biggest birthday tip is to take all the photos you possibly can. I love the candid photos of my son enjoying his day!
Go and visit some favorite characters, they'll notice the birthday button and celebrate with you. I would also try to end your visit with a special ride that your niece loves or surprise her with a souvenir she might have been looking at earlier in the day. I really love the
Storybook Canal Boats at night, and kids can ask to be a "whale watcher" and sit on the front of the boat. It's always a big hit with our kiddos and it's a gorgeous way to end the evening.
I hope your niece has a wonderful birthday, Kami! She's lucky to have a magical aunt like you!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
