We would like to be in Disneyland on wed Aug 13th. Will it still be decorated for the 70th anniversary, or will it be Halloween decorations? Also, is there fireworks on Wednesday?

    Hi Nanette!

With all the excitement and celebratory entertainment around the 70th Anniversary, I can understand not wanting to miss a beat. I'm sure you've got some must-see and must-do activities on your list, from the Paint the Night Parade to World of Color Happiness! to the Celebrate Happy Cavalcade to seeing Mickey and Minnie in their anniversary best! Let's take a look at your question so you can make the most of your time in the magic.

While the first Oogie Boogie Bash makes its way to California Adventure on August 17th, Halloween Time does not officially kick off until August 22nd. This means that while you may see some signs of fall, you will get to take advantage of all the 70th offerings, including the decorations and seeing Sleeping Beauty Castle all dressed up for the occasion. I recommend making time to experience the newest attraction, Walt Disney—A Magical Life, to see and hear Walt himself talk through his big dreams and ideas for the Happiest Place on Earth. I can't wait to see this myself during my visit next week!

It sounds like you already have Wondrous Journeys on your list as a must-see nighttime spectacular, and with good reason! This incredible show transports Guests back through the last 100 years of Disney animation and 70 years of magic at the Happiest Place on Earth. With stunning music and projections, this show is paired with fireworks on select nights. According to the current Entertainment Schedule, it is scheduled to be performed with fireworks on August 13th. Of course, this is subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances, but for the moment, you can schedule it into your park day! I would double-check the schedule in your app when you arrive, just to make sure nothing has changed.

Nanette, I sure hope this helped plan your upcoming visit! If you are looking to make your 70th celebration extra sweet, I highly recommend checking out the 70th Anniversary Foodie Guide for a list of all the limited-time offerings.
