At disneyland, when using rider switch and LL single pass, does group B need to purchase LL single pass?

Hey there, Amy. Welcome to planDisney, the happiest corner of the internet. We're so glad you stopped by to ask us this question. I'm delighted to help you prepare for your upcoming visit, so let's get to your question.

Rider Switch is a great service for everyone to enjoy an attraction when there might be someone in your party who doesn't meet boarding requirements or can't wait outside of the queue alone. I wasn't overly confident about the answer to your question (like Gaston might be), so I checked in with a helpful Cast Member who shared that everyone who plans to experience the attraction via the Lightning Lane Single Pass entrance will need to purchase the Lightning Lane Single Pass for the attraction you wish to ride. This applies to all guests with a theme park ticket (ages 3 and over). Pairing the Rider Switch with a Lightning Lane entry will reduce the amount of time that Party A is waiting in line and will allow Party B to enjoy their ride even quicker.

Rider Switch is available at nearly all attractions at the Disneyland Resort, and a list of eligible attractions can be found in the Disneyland app by navigating to the map and then filtering attractions by "Rider Switch," which is found under "Interests." The Disneyland app is a handy resource for your trip and provides easy access to attraction wait times, a map of the resort and (my favorite) the ability to mobile order your food and drink.

Amy, I hope this has been helpful and gives you the information needed to plan for your best Disney day! If you think of any other questions that we can help with, please come back to visit us. Until then, I'm sending you all the pixie dust as you finalize your plans for your magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
