Hi Karen!
Welcome to planDisney! We love helping fellow Guests plan magical vacations to the Happiest Place on Earth, and it's great to hear that you are doing some advanced planning before you make your way into the parks. Shopping and eating are nearly as important as experiencing your favorite attractions on any Disneyland day (especially with so many
Halloween Time seasonal treats available!), so it's smart to get a lay of the land in terms of what payments are accepted.
Happy to report that cash is still accepted at Disneyland Park, California Adventure, the resort hotels, and Downtown Disney. Of course, when making in-app purchases, like
Lightning Lane Multi or Single Pass,
Mobile Ordering quick service meals and snacks, or
Merchandise Mobile Check Out, a credit card is required.
There are several
ATMs throughout the resort, which you can easily locate in the Disneyland app. When you open the app, tap the search icon in the bottom navigation bar and enter "ATM". On the next screen, you will see an option to "Find on Map". Tap there for the locations to be revealed!
Some other budget-friendly tips we love to share are that you are welcome to bring in your own drinks and snacks, except alcohol and food in glass containers. My family usually has some granola bars on hand, and we bring reusable water bottles to stay hydrated. Similar to the ATMs, you can find water fountains throughout the parks, easily identified on the park map with a quick search for
Bottle Refilling Stations. Additionally, you can ask for a cup of ice water at any quick service location, free of charge.
If you are celebrating something special, be sure to ask for a complimentary "I'm Celebrating" button, available at City Hall and most merchandise locations. You'll be showered in well wishes throughout the day, and you never know what kind of pixie dust may follow!
Karen, I sure hope this has been helpful! If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at
planDisney.
Magic awaits!
Tara
