Hi Carisa,
First off—huge congratulations to the graduates! What an exciting way to celebrate such a major milestone—with a magical trip to the Happiest Place on Earth! Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney—I'm thrilled to help you sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your celebration planning.
As of now, the
Matterhorn Bobsleds are scheduled to be closed for refurbishment on the dates you mentioned. I recommend checking back as your trip gets closer to see if anything changes. You can head to the Disneyland Parks website and click “Tickets & Parks” at the top left-hand side. In the dropdown menu, select “See All Hours & Events Calendar.” This will bring you to the
Events Calendar page, where you can view park hours, parade times, shows, fireworks, and nighttime spectaculars. If you scroll down, there's also a “Closed for Refurbishment” section—just make sure you're viewing the calendar in “1-day” mode, as that section doesn’t appear in the 5-day view.
I’m so excited for
World of Color – ONE: Happiness! It’ll feature music from Turning Red, A Goofy Movie, Tangled, and Encanto—some of my all-time Disney faves. I’m especially hoping to rock out to “I2I,” and I know the Boyz II Men rendition of “Rainbow Connection” will be a total tearjerker. While the performance schedule for World of Color hasn’t been posted yet, be sure to keep
checking the daily schedule either online or on the Disneyland app. On the app, just tap the map icon at the bottom of the screen, then scroll to “Entertainment” at the top. I like switching to List mode so I can easily see all the options and times. The entertainment schedule is typically released about 40 days in advance, but keep in mind—it’s always subject to change!
And now for the most magical part—celebrating your two amazing graduating seniors! Be sure to stop by Guest Services when you arrive to pick up a complimentary graduation button for each of them. It’s such a fun keepsake to commemorate this milestone! You’ll also find tons of
graduation-themed merchandise throughout the parks, from Mickey graduation hats and ears to pins, jewelry, plushies, and more. I’ve seen guests get their Mickey ears personalized with beautiful hand-painted touches at
Plaza Point in Disneyland or
Julius Katz & Sons in Disney California Adventure. It’s the perfect souvenir they can proudly display at home to remember this unforgettable moment—and your magical vacation together!
Just a heads-up: you might want to save a little room in your suitcase for all those celebratory goodies.
I hope this information helps, Carisa! If you have any more questions, need help planning, or want more tips, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists—we’d be honored to assist.
Congratulations to the graduates—your adventure is just beginning!
