Welcome back to planDisney, Queen Lisette!
Ah, decisions, decisions. The choice between a
VIP Tour and the newly revived
Disneyland Railroad Guided Tour is a delightful dilemma. It’s a good thing you've come back to find me here so that we can go over all the magical details.
The opportunity to ride the
Lilly Belle, a luxurious parlor car designed as a tribute to Mrs. Lillian Disney herself, is a dream that many Mouseketeers have had for generations. Personally, I can't wait to hop aboard with my train-loving toddler and share that special experience.
The VIP Tour is a grand adventure in its own right. It usually requires a
7-hour minimum and is charged hourly, making it a perfect choice for those who want a customized, all-day escapade through the parks. With a dedicated guide, you'll enjoy priority access to attractions, reserved seating for shows, and a flexible itinerary tailored to your every whim. Since reservations are a must, it's best to call (714) 300-7710 or email
DisneylandVIPTours@disney.com as soon as you have your travel dates.
On the other hand, the Disneyland Railroad Guided Tour offers a more focused, but equally enchanting experience. This tour lasts about 2 hours and comes with a fixed fee. You'll still have a Guided Tour Cast Member
dressed in plaid just like on the VIP Tours to escort you around the park and share fascinating trivia. The highlight, of course, is boarding the Lilly Belle, but you’ll also encounter a select few attractions themed around
Walt Disney’s love for transportation vehicles. To top it off, this tour includes a delightful treat and beverage from a popular Main Street, U.S.A. spot, a charming souvenir keepsake, and a personalized name tag to commemorate your magical journey.
Reservations for the Railroad Guided Tour open up 60 days in advance and are highly recommended due to the limited space on this special Presidential Parlor Car. So if you are planning to visit in mid-September, for example,
check the reservations calendar in mid-July — you may find something there that wasn't there before. If you're feeling spontaneous, same-day bookings are possible up to 20 minutes prior to the tour, subject to availability.
I hope this helped clear things up, Lisette. As
certain as the sun rising in the east, you can always
send me another question directly. I’m happy to share more of
my favorite tips with you.
Thanks again for putting my service to the test.
