We are going to Disneyland tomorrow can we take a wagon for my granddaughter in case she falls asleep or gets tired. She is to big for a stroller.

Hi Cecilia, and welcome to planDisney. It's almost time for your special day at Disneyland! With all the excitement, I can understand why you want to have a plan in case your granddaughter gets tired.

Cecilia, according to the Disneyland Resort Property Rules, wagons and stroller wagons are not permitted. The exception is when they are cleared for a specific medical need. This would be determined in person with a Disneyland Cast Member, usually around the security checkpoint. There is a chance you may be asked to bring the wagon back to your car, which would not be the best start to your magical day.

You can, however, bring a stroller as long as it is not larger than 31 inches wide and 52 inches long. There are also strollers available to rent just outside of the main entrance of Disneyland.

Cecilia, as a mom who visits the Disneyland Resort often with my two little kids, I've discovered a few good options when it comes to giving little ones a break.

    • Some experiences provide a great chance to rest. In Disneyland, watch a show in the Enchanted Tiki Room, ride the Disneyland Railroad around the whole park, gather under the tent for Storytelling at Royal Theatre, take a cruise on Pirates of the Caribbean, or navigate the Rivers of America aboard the Mark Twain Riverboat.
    • There is a quiet corner in the back of Mickey's Toontown with shade, benches, and less noise. This is a great place to rest. There's a fairly quiet area near the Winnie the Pooh ride, too.
    • Take lots of snack breaks – my kids love Dole Whip and Mickey-shaped pretzels.
    • Consider using a stroller to travel from land to land. This could be a good way for your granddaughter to preserve some of her energy.
Don't forget to leave time to meet various Characters throughout the park. It's a favorite activity for my kids. You can use the Disneyland mobile app to see where Disney friends can be found throughout the day. Another thing my kids ask to do each time we visit is spend time at Goofy's How-To-Play Yard – there are rainbow roller slides that bring big smiles to their faces!

Cecilia, I hope you have a wonderful time at Disneyland with your granddaughter. If you ever have more questions about visiting Disneyland or any other Disney vacation destination, please reach out. We at planDisney are always happy to help!

    Wishing you magic,
