I will be going to Disneyland soon do we have to pay if are going to propose there at Disney resort in California?

    Hello, Manpreet!

Welcome to planDisney, and congratulations! Proposing to your one true love is a very exciting time, and I'm so excited that you brought us your question. My own husband proposed to me at Disneyland Park, I still remember it as one of the best days ever!

Visiting the parks at the Disneyland Resort currently requires guests to purchase valid theme park tickets and make park reservations. Once you're in the park, you're welcome to find the perfect time and place to pop the question! My husband proposed to me on the train platform on Main Street, U.S.A. because it has such a lovely view of the park. But here are a few other ideas to get you thinking:

    • Many proposals take place in front of, or around, Sleeping Beauty Castle. There are often Disney PhotoPass Photographers stationed here who would be happy to help you capture that magical moment! Try to whisper a quick word to the photographer before you get your photo taken and I'm sure you'll have plenty of photos to remember your proposal. If you purchase Disney Genie+ Service then you'll get unlimited downloads of your photos from that day!
    • A relaxing cruise on the Mark Twain Riverboat might be a lovely time to propose. You can often find a quieter spot on the deck if you'd like a little more privacy for your proposal. Keep an eye on the Disneyland Mobile App for operating times, sometimes the boat goes to bed early!
    • You could also propose someplace in the Downtown Disney District, such as one of the fountains, or on the grounds or in the lobbies of any of the Disneyland Resort Hotels. You do not need to be a guest of the hotels to visit the lobbies, and the one in Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa is particularly beautiful. In fact, you could prose at any of these places without even purchasing tickets and entering the parks!
There are some fun things you could do to celebrate that cost a little bit extra. A personalized souvenir is always a great idea! A new set of ears from the Mad Hatter, or an engraved keepsake from Crystal Arts might be just the right touch of Disney for your proposal. You could also take a guided tour together, or make reservations for my very favorite resort event: the World of Color Dessert Party at Disney California Adventure Park!

Manpreet, no matter how you choose to propose, I hope it will be a wonderful day for you and your true love to remember! If you have more questions about your visit, or you'd like to talk about some more ways to make it extra magical, you're welcome to send me a note and I'll be back in a flash with more pixie dust. Good luck, and congratulations!

    Keep moving forward!
