We are going to Disneyland in September and was wanting to find out what attractions will be closed

Hello, John, and welcome to planDisney! September is a spooktacular time to visit the Disneyland Resort. You'll get to immerse yourself in the frightful fun of Halloween Time, complete with festive decorations, themed treats, and seasonal entertainment. And, of course, experiencing all of the amazing attractions is a big part of any visit.

John, I love that you're planning ahead! Although it's still a bit early to determine which attractions will be closed for refurbishment in September, this information will be available on the Hours & Events Calendar in the coming months. The calendar is updated on a rolling basis to share information up to six weeks out, including which attractions will be closed for refurbishment. Check back in the first week of August to see what's in store for September. I also recommend checking back periodically as your trip approaches in case anything is added to the list.

Since you're visiting during Halloween Time, look out for attractions that receive a seasonal twist. Haunted Mansion Holiday blends the eerie charm of the Haunted Mansion with the whimsy of The Nightmare Before Christmas. One of my favorites is Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark in California Adventure. It’s high-energy and a little intense, but a must for thrill seekers!

You might also be excited to hear that the Paint the Night parade will continue during Halloween Time. There are amazing floats, lots of Characters, and high-energy music that will have you moving to the beat. The other nighttime show you will want to see is Halloween Screams, which typically features fireworks on weekends.

Before you arrive, be sure to download the Disneyland mobile app. You can use it in the park to check wait times, place a mobile order for food, see where to find Characters to meet, and more. Since attractions are high on your list, you may also want to consider purchasing the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, which can help shorten the amount of time you wait in line at many popular attractions. You'd use the app to book return times and access the Lightning Lane entrances.

John, please let us know if you think of any other questions as your trip approaches. We're always happy to help here at planDisney. I hope your trip to the Disneyland Resort is as sweet as a Halloween treat and just the right kind of spooky.

    Happy haunts and happy travels,
