Welcome back to planDisney, Heather! Thanks so much for stopping by again and asking this great question. I'm glad to hEAR you're planning a vacation at the
Disneyland Resort!
A pool day has always been a must-do for my family when we vacation at
Disney Parks. We have stayed at two of the three
Disneyland Resort Hotels, so I'm happy to help provide my experience and tips! Overall, the
Disneyland Hotel is going to provide the best pool amenities for children under the age of five.
The pools at this hotel offer three different water-related experiences, the E-Ticket Pool, the Monorail Waterslides, and the D-Ticket Pool. In addition to the Monorail Waterslides, there is a smaller, 2-lane mini-slide which is perfect for little ones who love to splash in the zero-entry pool area with bubble jets, fountains, and a waterfall. While there are lifeguards on duty during pool hours, keep in mind that the pool hours, slide operating times, and lifeguard availability vary by pool and weather conditions, and are subject to change. There are also complimentary life vests available for you to use and you can also bring arm floaties if you prefer.
One of the things I love about a pool day is we can truly relax and recharge. There is a poolside menu if you want to order any food or beverages as you enjoy the pool time. Be sure to bring your resort room key, as you will need it to open the gate to the pool area.
Our family also likes to plan for a nice dinner after a pool day, so I make an
advanced dining reservation at one of the restaurants in the
Downtown Disney District. The access from the Disneyland Hotel is a short walk and it's a great excuse for me to have my favorite ice cream from
Salt & Straw after dinner!
If you have any additional questions as you are planning, I hope you will visit us again at
planDisney. We're always happy to help you plan a visit to The Happiest Place on Earth!
Happy Planning!
