Will Disneyland resort and DCA start using "magic bands" in order to facilitate health regulations?

Greetings, Bekah, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I always enjoy helping my fellow Californians plan their next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, so let’s get started!

That is a great question, and one that I would also love to have the answer to! My family had the chance to visit Walt Disney World in late February, and we loved the convenience of our MagicBands! Like you, I would also enjoy seeing them make their way to the Disneyland Resort. Unfortunately, we don’t have any information about the potential use of MagicBands at either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park just yet. However, there is a helpful page on Disneyland.com dedicated to informing Guests of what to expect when the Disneyland Resort reopens in July. Under the “Enhanced Health and Safety Measures” section, Disneyland Resort details the enhanced protective measures that will be taken, including recommending cashless transactions through the help of technology, with the expansion of Mobile Order in the Disneyland app, Apple Pay, and more. In addition, the Disneyland Resort will require mandatory face coverings for both Cast Members and Guests, with the addition of hand-washing stations and physical barriers where appropriate. Theme park capacity will also be reduced to help enable physical distancing. All Cast Members and Guests will undergo temperature screenings prior to entering Downtown Disney District or the theme parks. Last but not least, Guests can expect enhanced cleaning and sanitation throughout the Resort.

Speaking of face coverings, have you seen Disney’s Cloth Face Masks on shopDisney.com? Not only are they adorable, but they’re also the perfect way to show your Disney style in the theme parks! My family of five ordered several sets, including Star Wars, Disney Princesses and Frozen, and Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Be sure to check the helpful sizing guide before ordering for the perfect fit.

For the latest theme park updates, I recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog, and on Disneyland.com.

Hope to see ya’ real soon, Bekah!

Greetings from sunny California! I live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder (and now a Magic Key Passholder) for more than 20 years! As a mom of three kids ages 5-10, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! Learn More About Kristin
