When is the Disneyland Railroad Guided Tour going to return?

Hi Mary, and welcome to planDisney! I’m glad that the Disneyland Railroad Guided Tour is on your radar. I enjoyed it so much that I went back for a second time this past spring. Let's talk about two things I love – trains and guided tours at the Disneyland Resort!

The Disneyland Railroad Guided Tour is not currently available, and a return date has not been announced. I suggest keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog and the Disneyland account on Instagram to watch for updates. I'm guessing that, because other guided tours are currently being offered, the railroad tour probably won't be back until after the new year, if it returns.

In the meantime, you might consider A Story of Celebration: Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Guided Tour. This two-hour experience includes a ride on the Disneyland Railroad, a cruise on the Mark Twain Riverboat, Lightning Lane entry for a select attraction, reserved viewing for the Paint the Night parade, and a special keepsake. It's festive, full of enchanting stories, and a great way to see Disneyland from a different perspective.

Depending on when you visit, you might be able to partake in one of the seasonal tours, too. During Halloween Time, Disney’s Happiest Haunts: The Villains’ Trail Guided Tour brings Guests into both theme parks. It includes reserved viewing of the Halloween Screams nighttime spectacular, a special photo opportunity, a Lightning Lane entrance to Haunted Mansion Holiday, and a collectible keepsake. The Disneyland Resort Home for the Holidays Guided Tour is a two-hour walking tour that will leave you feeling merry, with stories of beloved holiday traditions at the park, Lightning Lane access to Haunted Mansion Holiday, special viewing for A Christmas Fantasy Parade, and more.

Let's get back to trains – you can still enjoy plenty of railroad-themed fun at Disneyland:

    • Start with a full loop on the Disneyland Railroad, and wave to the dinosaurs!
    • Stop inside the Main Street, U.S.A. train station to see a map that lights up the location of each train.
    • Ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Casey Jr. Circus Train, and Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway.
    • If you have the MagicBand+, visit the interactive station in Frontierland – you might receive a printed train ticket, which is a fun, free souvenir.
Mary, I hope you are able to participate in a guided tour during your next visit. If you have any more questions, we’re always happy to help here at planDisney.

    Full steam ahead,
    Kriss
