We are going to Disneyland and would like to purchase memory maker to allow us to get all of our pictures from our trip. How do I do that? I don’t see a place to pre-purchase on the Disneyland app. Thank you.

Hi there, Jennifer! I'm so glad you came to see us here at planDisney. I love to help fellow east-coasters plan their visits to the Disneyland Resort. Prepare to be swept up in the nostalgia and charm of the Happiest Place on Earth!

It sounds like you have visited the Walt Disney World Resort recently! While there are definitely similar offerings between the two locations, there are also some slight differences as well. One of those is the Disney PhotoPass offerings. In lieu of Disney's Memory Maker, the Disneyland Resort offers Disney PhotoPass+ One Week, which you can purchase in advance and works pretty much the same way. You will have access to all the photos taken by Disney PhotoPass photographers over the course of a week, including any and all character greetings, attraction photos, and those timeless Disneyland icon shots in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. This is currently offered for purchase through the website, which is why you are not seeing it within the app. To add it to your vacation, simply log into your account on the website and navigate to the "My Disneyland" tab along the top navigation bar. Select "My Photos" from the drop-down menu and then "Photo Products". Scroll until you see the Disney PhotoPass+ One Week and add it to your cart!

All this being said, I may have some pixie-dusted news for you! Remember when I mentioned that there are some slight differences between Walt Disney World and Disneyland?! Well, get ready! If you have added Genie+ to your tickets, one of the perks is that you will have access to unlimited digital downloads of ALL the Disney PhotoPass photos taken each day! Yes, each and every one! So while you are skipping those queues and hopping in the 19 Lightning Lanes offered across the Disneyland Resort, you can also jump in front of every PhotoPass photographer and capture each and every moment!

If you added Genie+ when you purchased your tickets, you will have the PhotoPass benefit for each day of your visit. If you are still thinking about upgrading to Genie+, no worries. You can always add it daily once you are at Disneyland. After you scan into the park each day, open up the Disneyland Mobile App and tap the "+" in the bottom navigation bar. Select "View My Genie Day and Tip Board" and then navigate to the "My Day" tab on the next screen. You should see the option to "Take Today to the Next Level". Tap in here and away you go on your magic carpet! You will get the same Disney PhotoPass benefit but would just need to add it to your tickets each morning.

Did you know that you can also get a sense of where to find the Disney PhotoPass photographers before heading into the parks? Sometimes they are in some of the more off-the-beaten-path locations that make for some incredible shots and memories. Head back into the app and select the pinpoint Icon. Tap the drop-down menu at the top of the next page and select PhotoPass!

Jennifer, don't forget to ask for those magic shots! If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at planDisney

    Magic awaits!
