Does Disneyland pass out candy on Halloween Day or do you have to attend the Oogie Boogie event?

Hey there, Vanessa! Welcome to planDisney and thank you for sharing this question with us.

How exciting to know you'll be visiting Disneyland Resort on Halloween Day! Of course, any day spent at 'The Happiest Place on Earth' is unforgettable, it always feels a little extra special to experience a holiday in the middle of the magic. As you might know, Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party is a separately-ticketed event that takes place at Disney California Adventure Park on select nights, including October 31 this year. While there are definitely plenty of sweet treats to go around at this event, there is a way to collect candy even outside of the event! If you are staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels, you'll be glad to know that hotel Guests may also participate in a seasonal Trick or Treating event in the hotel lobbies from 3 PM to 5 PM on select nights! I saw a sign for this at our hotel concierge desk during my family's recent visit and thought it was a really nice touch for kids (and kids at heart) to enjoy the festivities even if they aren't planning to attend Oogie Boogie Bash. You will need to sign up at the front desk and receive a wristband to participate, and you may want to note that schedules and offerings are subject to change. My best recommendation is to check with a Cast Member when you arrive at your Disneyland Resort Hotel to see when the Trick or Treating event might be available.

Finally, Vanessa, while I'm not aware of another Trick or Treating experience within the theme parks, I do want to mention that there are some wonderful seasonal eats and treats throughout the Disneyland Resort theme parks, hotels, and the Downtown Disney District during Halloween Time. I always love checking out the Disney Eats: Foodie Guides prior to my visit, and the Disneyland Halloween Foodie Guide 2024 is exceptional! Trolley Treats at Disney California Adventure Park and Candy Palace at Disneyland Park are great places to stock up on candy, toffee, fudge, caramel apples, and all sorts of fun treats - both traditional favorites and limited-time offerings! I hope this has all been helpful and more than anything, I wish you and your loved ones a fantastic visit to Disneyland Resort during the most frightful (and delightful) time of year!
