Hi there, Suzanne,
The Disneyland Resort
theme park reservation system helps to make the experience of visiting The Happiest Place on Earth more enjoyable for everyone. While it does make it less likely that admission restrictions will be enacted, admission to a given park is still technically subject to availability.
In my opinion, there is a great chance you won’t have any issues with taking a break and returning to the park to ring in the new year later in the evening. If you have
Park Hopper tickets, I can’t imagine any scenario that would keep you from being able to enjoy at least one park or the other.
Tony’s Tip: Most Guests are aware of the
New Year’s Eve Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks Spectacular that welcomes in the new year with a bang at midnight. Many families, including my own, appreciate that there is an earlier presentation of the “midnight” countdown at midnight Eastern Time/9:00 PM Pacífic Time and the same Fantasy in the Sky show at that time. You may find that many Guests choose to use that earlier countdown to mark the turning of years and exit the park soon after.
Tony’s Tip Times Two: Be sure to check the
Disneyland mobile app for the latest “New Year’s Eve at the Disneyland Resort” entertainment offerings. The celebration guide highlights dance parties, pyrotechnics displays, and party favors that may be available in both
Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park.
Happy New Year, Suzanne! May you have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort.
