Is the Disneyland park in Anaheim not going to have the Candlelight Processional this year? We want to plan our trip around this event, and would like to make our plans soon! Thanks so much!

Hi Mark! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.

The Candlelight Processional is a beautiful annual tradition at Disneyland Park, featuring a surprise narrator, choir, and orchestra. Disneyland Resort has not officially released the two dates when this treasured event will be held. It might not do so until after it is over, as it is an intimate affair and not highly publicized.

What does that mean for your plans? You can watch the Disney Parks Blog for an announcement since it's the official source for park news. But since you're looking to plan in advance--you'll need an admission ticket and a theme park reservation, which could fill up at this popular time of year--I'd suggest looking at previous years' dates to help gauge when you might luck into seeing the Candlelight Processional. In 2022, the Candlelight Processional occurred on December 3rd and December 4th with two shows on both evenings. That was the first weekend in December.

Now, if you check the Entertainment Schedule, nothing appears yet to indicate a performance. So there is no guarantee. But even if you don't get a peek at the Candlelight Processional, you'll be enjoying the best season to visit the parks.

The Holidays at the Disneyland Resort are a magical time to visit. From the festive decor and treats to the entertainment, you'll be in the spirit of the holidays. Check out Disney Eats for the scoop on all the yummy goodies you'll want to try while you're there. My favorite part of the season is the holiday overlays, which transform select attractions. In Disneyland Park, don't miss the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay in New Orleans Square or the "it's a small world" Holiday overlay in Fantasyland, which is also a great spot to watch nighttime entertainment.

    Have a magical day!
