Is Disneyland open right now with the fires going on?

Hey there, hi there, Courtney! Welcome to planDisney. We appreciate you reaching out with your planning question.

It's been a hard week for all of us in southern California and we have all been on edge as we have watched the fires cause such devastation to Los Angeles. I am happy to let you know that Disneyland Resort is currently open and welcoming Guests. At the time of writing this tickets and theme park reservations are available for the upcoming days. Anaheim is roughly 30 to 40+ miles from the current wildfires so it is far enough removed that Anaheim hasn't been affected. That said, I also want to share that the safety of its Guests and Cast Members is always a top priority for Disneyland, and they will continue to monitor the current situation.

As a mom, I do understand the worry about whether to continue with your upcoming plans. Ultimately, you know best and I suggest keeping an eye on the weather and air quality to decide what is best for you and your party. The parks have always been a place of respite for our family when we need a pick-me-up or a little extra magic in our day and it could be exactly what you need too.

Those of us who know the history of Walt Disney know that Los Angeles plays a very big part in the story of The Walt Disney Company and they announced last week that they have committed to giving $15 million to relief and rebuilding efforts.

Courtney, whether you decide to continue with your planned visit or hold off know that the magic of Disneyland is waiting for you! We will be here for any other planning questions you might have.

Meet the Panelist: Carrie, California

Well hello there, friend! I'm Carrie, a work-from-home mom and military wife who currently calls sunny San Diego home. You'll find my family in the parks braving drops and coasters to work up our appetite to take as many snack breaks as we can. While Disneyland is our home away from home, we love trying to make a Walt Disney World Resort vacation happen at least once a year now too. All my friends know I'm the go-to for Disney advice, so I'm here to help you plan and experience the magic on your visit! Learn More About Carrie
