Hi Deborah! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks so much for stopping by to ask this question. I'm glad you found us!
Visiting The Happiest Place on Earth does require some planning, and when I have plans to go, I also like to check the weather. Rain or shine, the magic is still open! In the event of inclement weather such as rain, thunder and lightning, and wind, there will be some entertainment that might be canceled as a result. Because some attractions are outdoors, those rides might also temporarily close. It just depends on the attraction and the type of weather. For example, I have ridden
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in the rain. However,
Mad Tea Party was closed when it rained during a visit I had.
Rainy days at
Disneyland Park and
Disneyland California Adventure Park hold some of my favorite memories, but I know it's not for everyone. If you plan to go on a day when rain is in the forecast, I recommend bringing an umbrella or a poncho and wearing some good waterproof shoes. If you prefer to reschedule your visit, you can check the
Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar and modify your existing
Theme Park Reservation for a new date that's available.
Whatever you decide, I'm wishing you a magical day at the Disneyland Resort! When you have more planning questions, we're happy to help you at
planDisney!
Happy Planning!
Smiles,
Lisa
