I’m happy you’re looking to upgrade a
theme park ticket into a
Magic Key for the
Disneyland Resort! As a fellow Magic Key holder, I have been enjoying all the benefits and
discounts that come with my Magic Key! If you haven’t already, take a minute to review all the discounts available!
According to the
Magic Key Buying Guide, if you'd like to upgrade a wholly unused theme park ticket to a Magic Key, you would have to visit a ticket booth in person at the Disneyland Resort Esplanade to make the upgrade. The value of an unused theme park ticket can be applied towards the purchase of a Magic Key pass as long as the cost of the pass is equal to or greater than the price paid for the original ticket.
However, I’m sorry to inform you that at this time, the Disneyland Resort has paused the sale of new Magic Keys and has not announced when the next sale will occur. “Absence makes the heart grow fonder … or forgetful.” I’m sorry this isn’t the news you were hoping for, but don’t lose faith! “Dreams do come true if only we wish hard enough.
