We'll be at Disneyland in March My husbands FAVORITE ride is the Haunted Mansion. I'm finding conflicting reports on the rides availability while the queue area is constructed. Sources say the ride will be closed, others say it will stay open?

    Greetings, Wendy!

It's frightfully good to meet you! Thanks so much for your question. I understand that a favorite attraction or show being unavailable can be a bit of a damper on a trip. I've definitely been there!

I sent a message to Madame Leota and she responded that the future is still hazy for the Haunted Mansion in 2024. Looking for a slightly more definitive source, I checked the Hours & Events Calendar for the Disneyland Resort...but that calendar is only populated around six weeks in advance. I guess that makes Madame Leota our best option at the moment! I would suggest checking the calendar as your trip gets closer and keeping an eye on the attraction page because they often note there if a ride will be going under refurbishment.

I am reminded that some news has materialized on the Disney Parks Blog about the updates coming to the Haunted Mansion, and they did hint that more information would find us in 2024, so I would watch the blog for more updates. The gardens being added to the mansion look amazing! I'm hoping that a ghost or two might find ways to communicate with us, even before we've entered the mansion. You never know what Imagineers will dream up!

Knowing that your husband is a big fan of the Haunted Mansion, I have to recommend one of my favorite shows: Behind the Attraction! This Disney+ series dives deep into the inspiration, construction, and experience of popular attractions...including a whole episode on the Haunted Mansion! There is so much fun historical information about this legendary attraction, I think your husband would love seeing a peek behind the walls of that spooky residence.

I wish I had better news for you, Wendy! I'm sending all my sympathetic vibrations for you to have a wonderful trip, even if you aren't able to take a hitchhiking ghost home with you on your next visit. Don't forget to hurry back!

    Keep moving forward!
