Hiya, Don! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. I love that you're planning ahead and looking to unlock some extra magic.
I've got great news for you - Disneyland does use the
MagicBand+! If you've got one from a previous trip to Walt Disney World or a cruise on Disney Cruise Line, you can add it to your Disneyland Mobile app and be ready for an extra dose of fun! If you don't have one yet, they are an optional accessory and not entirely necessary to have a great day at the Happiest Place on Earth. However, they are great to use at the main ticket gate (a valid theme park ticket and
reservation are required), for linking Disney PhotoPass photos, and for interactive experiences throughout the park.
One of my favorite offerings for
Disneyland's 70th Anniversary is the
MagicBand+ interactions throughout Disneyland Park. Scan your MagicBand+ at these interactions, and you will get an experience or small ticket (subject to availability) commemorating a Disneyland opening day attraction. My kids have been loving these during our visits. You can find the locations for these interactions on the
Disneyland website or the
Disneyland Mobile app.
Don, if you plan to buy a MagicBand+ during your visit, please know it usually has enough charge to use as your linked park ticket and for Disney PhotoPass scanning, but it may not have enough for the interactions with park surroundings (like during
World of Color). This is something to keep in mind if you are hoping to experience the MagicBand's full phenomenal cosmic power!
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions!
See ya real soon,
Melissa
