I am going to Disneyland later this month. I just saw the announcement that MagicBand+ is available as of Oct 19 for MagicKey and DVC; and Oct 26 for the public. Can I use my Apple Watch like a MagicBand+ at Disneyland starting Oct 19?

    Hi there, Amanda!

The inner geek in me is feeling very excited about the debut of MagicBand+ at the Disneyland Resort. I purchased a new MagicBand+ during a recent stay at the Walt Disney World Resort. I can’t wait to take that band with me on our next visit to the Disneyland Resort too! I’m especially intrigued to experience what surprises may be in store when wearing a MagicBand+ during entertainment experiences at Avengers Campus.

As you are aware, MagicBand+ is arriving at the Disneyland Resort soon. MagicBand+ may be purchased at the Disneyland Resort by Cast Members, Disney Vacation Club members, and Disneyland Resort Magic Key holders beginning October 19. All other Disneyland Resort Guests may purchase bands at select locations beginning October 26. Guests who have already purchased a MagicBand+ at Walt Disney World Resort, from shopDisney, or during the preview purchase period beginning October 19 may begin using select features of their bands at The Happiest Place on Earth even before the October 26 broad debut.

At the Walt Disney World Resort, Guests with supported mobile devices may use the Disney MagicMobile Service to unlock the magic of a Walt Disney World vacation using their phone or watch. This type of service has not yet migrated to the Disneyland Resort. But I’m excited to see what lies ahead for Disney Parks fans on the west coast too. I recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for the latest news and information.

Tony’s Tip: Update to the latest versions of the Disneyland mobile app and Play Disney Parks app to ensure compatibility with MagicBand+. Depending on usage, the MagicBand+ battery may last up to a few days. But I recommend charging it overnight each day of use.

    Have a magical time, Amanda!
