I am going to Disneyland in June. I think I’ll buy the premier lighting pass. But I guess I can’t do that tip 7 days out from my arrival. Correct? So if that’s the case - should I buy now the multi pass lighting pass - in case premiers aren’t available?

Hello, Lori, and welcome to planDisney! Lightning Lanes are such a great way to maximize the magic of your day in the parks. I especially like to use Lightning Lanes when I'm visiting with someone who doesn't come to the Disneyland Resort often. The ability to access popular attractions through shorter queues helps us fit even more into our day.

The Lightning Lane Premier Pass takes it to the next level, providing access to both multi pass and single pass attractions without the need to book return windows. And you are right, Lori. Lightning Lane Premier Passes can be purchased on the Disneyland mobile app up to seven days before your park visit, starting at 7:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Keep in mind that very limited quantities are available, so I recommend trying to purchase them early in the morning on the first day you are eligible to. Also, make sure you have Park Hopper tickets to take full advantage of the Premier Pass, which can be used for attractions in both parks.

One important note about the timing I mentioned above: It's a little different if you are visiting with a Disney travel package since Guests generally receive their theme park tickets two days before their arrival, and at that point, they can purchase a Premier Pass – the window is a little shorter.

Lori, I recommend waiting to see if you are able to successfully purchase the Lightning Lane Premier Pass before purchasing the Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Per the terms and conditions for Disney eTickets, Lightning Lane passes are nonrefundable. That means you couldn't return the multi pass, for example, if you no longer wanted it after successfully purchasing the Premier Pass. In the event you aren't able to get a Premier Pass, you can upgrade your existing ticket to include the multi pass in the days leading up to your visit – it can even be purchased on the same day of your visit after you enter the park, as long as quantities are still available. I personally haven't experienced issues getting one, especially a few days in advance or early in the day. That said, you can choose what is best for you.

Did you know both the Lightning Lane Premier Pass and the Lightning Lane Multi Pass include unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass digital photos all day? I love this benefit because it's a convenient and fun way to get wonderful family (and solo) photos. Photographers are ready at the PhotoPass locations to capture beautiful memories for you.

And Lori, June is a great time to visit the Disneyland Resort. You're in for a treat! The 70th Anniversary Celebration will be underway, with amazing nighttime spectaculars, colorful decorations, special merchandise, and a lot more. I'm most excited about the Paint the Night parade and the all-new World of Color experience.

Lori, I hope this information has sprinkled some pixie dust on your planning. Regardless of which type of Lightning Lane passes you decide to purchase, I'm sure they'll help pave the way for a magical time.
