Hi, Karri. Welcome to planDisney.
I love that you’re interested in the Cultivating the Magic Tour. Do you ever look at the towering trees of
Disneyland and get the impression that they were always there, and Disneyland was built around them? When I spend time at Disneyland Resort, it always strikes me how the trees and plants play such an integral part in the magic. They help guide your focus, transport you to faraway lands, and remind you that magic comes in many different forms.
In researching this tour, I understand why you’d want this experience. It breaks my boughs to say that there is no indication at this time that the Cultivating the Magic tour will return. I know that’s not the news you were hoping for. If ever it’s reinstated, I’ll be on the first tour with you. Sorry to prune your hopes so early in the season.
There are, however, many great
tours at the Disneyland Resort. I’m most excited about the recently added
Disneyland Railroad Guided Tour, which explores one of Walt’s greatest passions - trains! The tour allows you a special look at the Disneyland Railroad, including a ride in Walt’s private parlour caboose, the Lilly Belle. I’ve had the pleasure of riding in this car that Walt used to host dignitaries and stars, and I’ll never forget the feeling of being in such a spiffy space that Walt put so much care into. I can’t recommend it enough!
Regarding other horticulture events at Disneyland Resort, there are a few. Seasonal floral displays are an iconic part of the parks. For instance, Disneyland often displays Minnie Mouse at the park entrance display for Women’s History Month. During the Fall, you can see the hand-carved pumpkins on Main Street, U.S.A., for the
Main Street Pumpkin Festival. Did you know that it’s estimated that Disneyland installs over 25,000 poinsettias each
holiday season? The plants, gardens, and flowers of Disneyland Resort bring so much brightness and joy throughout the year.
If you have a budding interest in a dedicated festival, Walt Disney World hosts the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival from March 4 to June 1, 2026. Karri, this may be your event, and worth the trip to Florida. This festival celebrates Spring with unique topiaries, gardens, garden-fresh fare, and live music performances. While there, you can also enjoy one of my favorite attractions,
Living with the Land. You will explore the history of farming and pass through a working greenhouse. There is even a guided tour called
Behind the Seeds that gives you a closer look at The Land Pavilion.
Karri, I hope your horticultural interests can overlap with your love of Disney in a special way by experiencing some of these events and festivals. As always, we’re happy to help with all your planning questions at
planDisney. Have a magical day!
