Hi, Chelsie! Thanks for sending in your question to planDisney! Like you, I am a Walt Disney World Resort gal at heart, and I consider it my home park. But, there is just something exceptional about Disneyland Resort. As you walk into Disneyland Park, glance up to the left before reaching Main Street, U.S.A., where Walt's apartment sits nestled above the Town Square Fire Station; you'll see that his lamp remains lit to this day!
Similar to the My Disney Experience app, you can download the
Disneyland Mobile App before your trip, and this is where you will link all your tickets. If you have already linked them, they should be listed under the "Tickets and Passes" section of the app. If they are not there, you can easily add them. Just tap the '+' symbol in the upper-right-hand corner. Use the "Link Tickets & Passes" button to add each ticket. You may do this by scanning the barcode on your theme park ticket or manually entering the number below the barcode. If you prefer to
print out your Disney eTicket you will want to open up the eTicket viewer first. Then go ahead and print from there. If you are having difficulties with printing, you’ll want to make sure your Adobe Reader is 4.0 or higher.
When you arrive at the turnstiles, you'll use the paper ticket or app on your mobile device to scan in. The Disneyland Resort Cast Members take a photo of all guests when they use that ticket to go through the turnstile the first time. This photo is entered into the ticketing system and used to identify the guest on subsequent park entries. At Walt Disney World Resort, electronic fingerprints are used instead of photographs for the same purpose.
The Disneyland website also has
video tutorials on how the
Disney Genie+ Service works at their parks. It is almost the same if you have used it at Walt Disney World Resort, but there are subtle differences, including the unlimited Disney PhotoPass downloads. When redeeming any Genie+ reservations, simply scan your physical park ticket or the barcode inside the Disneyland app at the ride’s Lightning Lane entrance. I recommend watching these videos before your trip next week!
Chelsie, the planDisney team is all ears if you have any more questions! See ya real soon!
