I’ve Never been to Disneyland this is our first visit I just wanted to know do you need separate tickets to see the nighttime fireworks or the castle at night

Hey there, Ashley! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Yay! I am so excited that you will be visiting the Disneyland Resort for the first time! To experience all the magic, you will need a theme park ticket, so I’m happy to explain how it works. To begin, you will need to decide if you want to visit both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park in the same day. If so, then you will need a Park Hopper ticket. If you only intend to visit one park, then a one park per day ticket will suffice. Keep in mind that if you buy a one-day ticket, the price fluctuates by date whereas multi-day tickets are the same price no matter which dates you visit.

With your valid ticket, you are granted entry for the entire day which includes all attractions, shows, character encounters, and nighttime entertainment options. You can even leave the park and come back later that day if you need to. I suggest buying your tickets in advance online or on the Disneyland app. Then you can bypass the ticket booths and head straight to the park gates when you arrive.

The other consideration when purchasing your ticket is whether or not to add Disney MaxPass. For an additional fee per ticket, per day, MaxPass enables you to select FASTPASSES from your mobile device on the Disneyland app from anywhere in the parks. MaxPass is an incredible time-saver and absolutely worth the additional cost in my opinion!

I hope this clarifies things for you. Please stop by again if you have any other questions!
