We are going to Disneyland for the first time. Are there shuttles from the parking areas to the actual parks like there are in Disney world?

Hi there, Ruth, and thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I hope you’ve had a blast making magical memories at the Happiest Place on Earth! If you’re still in the parks, be sure to stop by City Hall in Disneyland Park or Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park to ask for a complimentary “1st Visit!” button.

Yes, there are buses and trams ready to transport Guests from the various parking locations throughout the Disneyland Resort. Depending on which direction you’re traveling from, there are two parking locations to choose from – Toy Story Parking Area, which is accessible from South Harbor Boulevard and West Katella Avenue, or the Mickey & Friends/ Pixar Pals Parking Structures, which are accessible from Disneyland Drive, Magic Way, and West Ball Road.

You can choose to walk to the parks from either of these parking locations, or to take a complimentary bus or tram ride to The Esplanade (the area between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park). Just keep in mind that starting October 7, 2019, Guests will be required to fold strollers before boarding the trams at the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals Parking Structures. Guests must also fold strollers before boarding the buses available at the Toy Story Parking Area.

If you prefer to walk to the parks from your parking location, I recommend parking at the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals Parking Structures, where a brand-new walkway just opened off of Level 2 of the Pixar Pals Parking Structure. This walkway connects the Parking Structures to Downtown Disney District, where you can head through security, then walk through Downtown Disney District to the theme parks, or choose to take the Disneyland Monorail into Disneyland Park (if you’ve already purchased your park tickets).

I also recommend taking a picture of where your car is parked, so you can easily find it at the end of your Disneyland Resort adventures!

I hope this helps. Please stop by with any additional questions as you begin planning your next getaway to the Disneyland Resort!
