We are going to Disneyland in a few days. We used magic bands @ WDW and was wondering if there is something similar that we can link a credit card to so that my 16 year old daughter can use to buy food, drinks, snack ect...

    Hi Eric!

Welcome to planDisney! Thanks a bunch for giving us a chance to be part of your Disney vacation planning process!

While Disneyland Resort does not currently have a MagicBand equivalent, I have some exciting news for you! It was announced at the recent Destination D23 event, that the next-generation MagicBand+ wearable technology, will be coming to Disneyland Resort in 2022! Be sure to follow the Disney Parks Blog for the latest and greatest news. We should be hearing more details in the coming months! My family and I absolutely love using MagicBands at the Walt Disney World Resort, and can’t wait to have a similar experience at Disneyland Resort!

Now while Disneyland Resort does not currently have MagicBand+ available, you do have other options so that your daughter can conveniently order food, drinks, snacks and even shop! The first option is to use a Disney Gift Card. Disney Gift Cards are extremely versatile and can be used for almost everything Disney, which includes usage throughout Disneyland Resort on your upcoming trip! You can purchase a Disney Gift Card at select locations throughout the Disneyland Resort, Disney store locations, online at shopDisney and major retailers nationwide! The great thing about Disney Gift Cards is that they never expire, and they can be reloaded at any Disney location that sells them. Just be aware that the online reload feature is not currently available, but there is a workaround. You can transfer funds between Disney Gift Cards by logging into DisneyGiftCard.com and clicking on the "My Cards" link. You'll then need to add your Disney Gift Cards by selecting the "Add A Card" link. Once your cards are added, select the card you want to transfer the other cards' funds to, and select "Transfer Funds to This Card".

The second option requires your daughter to have a phone capable of using the Disneyland app. The Disneyland app allows you to place Mobile Food Orders and even shop using the new Merchandise Mobile Checkout feature (available at select merchandise shops).

I truly hope you and your family have a blast at Disneyland Resort, and feel free to swing back to planDisney with any more questions. We're here to help!

    See ya real soon!
