Hi there, Janice!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thanks for your question about the
Disneyland Resort. Early February is a great time to visit the Happiest Place on Earth! The popular
Lunar New Year celebration recently began and will continue through February 18 at Disney California Adventure Park. This event is a tribute to Asian cultures and offers Guests a chance to experience unique entertainment and scrumptious food offerings inspired by Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cuisine for a limited time. There’s also lots of distinct merchandise created just for the celebration that features Mickey, Minnie and Pluto too, since this is the Year of the Dog in the Chinese zodiac.
Don’t miss
Hurry Home — Lunar New Year Celebration, a water show that is scheduled nightly with the first performance of World of Color. The musical score was originally created for the opening ceremony of Shanghai Disney Resort! Disney characters like Mulan and her little dragon sidekick, Mushu, plus Mickey and his best pals will be all gussied up for the occasion. Goofy will even make appearances dressed as the God of Good Fortune during Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession, a vibrant daily parade.
Of course, there will be plenty of excitement to enjoy in Disneyland Park too. Be sure to stop by
Star Wars Launch Bay in Tomorrowland to meet your favorite characters and explore interactive exhibits that are out of this world! I hope this helps you plan, Janice! Please write back with any other questions that come to mind.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
