Hi, since Disneyland express bus/shuttle will no longer transport Disneyland (Anaheim) resort guests from and to the airport (LAX), what alternatives do we have that would be suitable for little children (8yrs and under)? We are not bringing our car seats.

    Hiya, Margot!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How wonderful that you and your family will be spending some time at “Walt Disney’s Original Magic Kingdom.”

I’m glad you are planning ahead to ensure safe arrival at the Disneyland Resort. According to the California Highway Patrol, children under the age of eight must be secured in a car seat or booster seat in the back seat when traveling in a vehicle. Limited exceptions are made for motorcoach services, such as that the Disneyland Resort Express operated by Coach USA. Because Coach USA is discontinuing this service soon after the start of 2020, guests must plan for other means of arriving at their destinations in Anaheim.

Many options are available to help travelers get from Southern California airports to the Disneyland Resort. Rideshare, taxicab, and shuttle services typically do not offer suitable child car seats. One option that would work for vacationers in need of child car seats is to make use of public transportation services. But, to be honest with you, I would not recommend that route with small children and luggage in tow.

I would like to share some suggestions to consider if traveling with your own regular child seats is not a viable option. If your children happen to be large enough to use backless booster seats, you might consider using portable solutions such as the Mifold Grab-n-Go Booster Car Seat. Or our youngest daughter has been able to ride safely on the inflatable BubbleBum Backless Booster. I have also read multiple reports of travelers happy with certain private car services. One such option is Lansky Limousine Services, which happens to offer options for use of various sizes of child safety seats. Finally, another option to consider is renting a vehicle from the airport. One-way or round-trip rentals would give you the ultimate in flexibility and convenience.

Tony’s TIp: From stroller rentals to convenient Baby Care Centers, the Disneyland Resort has much to offer to help make visiting the theme parks easier for families with young children.

I hope you have a wonderful visit to the Disneyland Resort. Though the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort will have concluded shortly before your arrival, you will still be able to experience Haunted Mansion Holiday during some of its final days of the season.
    Have a magical time, Margot!
