I am going to Disneyland at the end of August I was wondering if you can get a physical copy of the room key and the tickets along with the magic band. I don’t have a magic band yet either it’s been years since I’ve been to Disneyland.

Hello, Alexandria, and welcome to planDisney! How exciting – you'll be visiting the Disneyland Resort just as Halloween Time is kicking off. Imagine pumpkins galore, seasonal overlays on select attractions, themed treats, and festive fun everywhere you turn. Let's talk about your hotel stay, theme park tickets, and more!

If you're staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel, you can absolutely request a physical room key at the Front Desk. While you can unlock your room with the Disneyland mobile app (as long as your reservation is linked), I like having a backup card, especially when my phone battery runs low! And here's a tip: You can keep your room key and use it to access the pool area after you check out, until the end of the day. If you are staying at an off-site hotel, I recommend contacting the hotel directly to ask about the room key.

Generally, theme park tickets are delivered as a Disney eTicket when you purchase them on the Disneyland website or app. You'll receive an email confirmation and can print your tickets from the "Access your Ticket" button. I typically access my tickets through the app. It's super convenient, and you don't have to worry about the ticket getting lost. You can ask a Cast Member at the ticket booth in the Esplanade if they can provide a printed ticket to you, although it's not guaranteed they’ll be able to provide one.

If you're looking for items that you can save as souvenirs or put into a scrapbook, I have a few fun ideas for you, and one of them requires the MagicBand+. There are currently a series of stations around Disneyland where you can tap your MagicBand+ to unlock unique interactions and effects. A few provide themed printed cards that are a perfect nostalgic memento. Keep an eye out for pressed penny machines and collectible medallions too.

Alexandria, make sure you've downloaded and are familiar with the Disneyland mobile app – it will be an important tool during your trip. You can use it to order food, pay for merchandise, check wait times, locate items on a map, manage Lightning Lane selections (if you purchase the multi pass), and more. The MagicBand+ is especially helpful if you have the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, because you can use it to quickly check in at Lightning Lane entrances and link PhotoPass photos to your app (you'll get unlimited photo downloads with the multi pass). The MagicBand+ also lights up and pulses during certain nighttime shows. You can buy one in advance through the Disney Store, or you can wait to purchase one with a Disneyland Resort design on-site after you arrive.

I hope you have the most amazing time at the Disneyland Resort, Alexandria. Since it's been a while since your last trip, make sure to check out the Disney Parks Blog to learn about some of the exciting things you'll encounter with this upcoming visit. If you have any other questions, please reach out. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
