Are Disneyland employees allowed to accept tips? We are traveling to the park for Thanksgiving and would love to show our appreciation to those working but are wondering if it is allowed.

Hi there, Laura. Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for taking the time to stop by with your question.

How kind of you to think of showing your appreciation for the Cast Members who work hard to ensure Guests have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort. Besides table service restaurants, I don’t believe Cast Members are allowed to accept tips/gratuities. However, you may stop by Guest Relations to recognize the Cast Member(s) who went above and beyond to make your visit magical. There are several Guest Relation locations located throughout the parks. We usually drop by City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland Park and Chamber of Commerce on Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure Park during our visit to leave our recognition to select Cast Members.

If the line is too long or you prefer to wait until after you return home, you can also send an email! In the drop-down menu for “Subject”, you can click on “Comments on your past Disneyland Resort visit”. Of course, the more information you can provide, the better! It’ll be helpful to jot down the Cast Member’s name, the date of your visit, time and location of your encounter with the Cast Member and what made your experience magical!

I hope this information is helpful for you! Please feel free to write us again if you have more trip-planning questions.

    See ya real soon,

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings from Northern California! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
