We will be at Disneyland in early Dec. Choosing b/t 2 Disney hotels (Grand CA & P. Pier); plan to upgrade to a park view. Which of the 2 has better park views? Which has better views of the holiday lights? any other considerations with kids age 7 a

December is my absolute favorite month to visit the Disneyland Resort. The parks and hotels shimmer with holiday decorations and glow during the winter holidays. As for resorts the best hotel hands down is Disney's Grand Californian. Everything about this resort is first rate. You will love the convenience of walking right into Disney California Adventure as the resort has it's own separate entrance. How neat is that? The dining is excellent. My kids enjoyed making their own pizza's at the Storyteller's Cafe' and my wife and I loved the tasty freshly made bread. Dinner at the Napa Rose is simply a divine dining experience. The menu for the entire family, along with the amazing service and lovely views, make this a restaurant you will return to many times. There are certain rooms at the parks that will provide a view of the Disneyland fireworks as well as some that will give you a view of the Mickey's Fun Wheel and Screamin'. These are awesome views at night when the sun goes down and the parks light up. As for fun things to do with a seven year old, you came to the right place. The Happiest Place on Earth is the perfect spot for multi day family fun. From Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion and the Matterhorn at Disneyland to Goofy's Sky School, Tower of Terror and of course the brand new Cars Land at Disney California Adventure, these attractions create at least a hundred smiles per hour! If you want to let the little one run and explore on a magical island, head over to Pirate's Liar on Tom Sawyer Island for jolly adventures on an island filled with twisting wilderness paths, tree house lookouts and dark caverns filled with cursed treasure. I hope these tips assist you in having the best vacation yet. I will see you at the parks.
