When does Disneyland decorate for Christmas?

Hello there, Meredith! Welcome to planDisney. We are so glad you stopped by with a question for us!

First comes Halloween, and then come the holidays! The official kick-off for the holiday season at Disneyland Resort is Friday, November 14, 2025. This is when the holiday nighttime spectaculars, parade, attraction overlays, and more will officially commence. However, once Halloween is over, you will see the decorations start to transform the parks, the Downtown Disney District, and the resort hotels.

The great thing about visiting between the two holidays is that you will be able to enjoy some of the 70th Celebration entertainment before it pauses for the holiday season. Paint the Night parade is a must-do. If you head towards "it's a small world", not only can you snag a great place to watch the parade, but you might also get a chance to see one of the viewings of Tapestry of Happiness. This is such a beautiful love letter to Disneyland and all the magic it's brought over the last 70 years. The Disney Parks Blog also shared that some of the Halloween-time treats will still be available until the holiday season commences.

Meredith, we are always here for all of your planning questions! I hope you have a wonderful fall visit!

Meet the Panelist: Carrie, California

Well hello there, friend! I'm Carrie, a work-from-home mom and military wife who currently calls sunny San Diego home. You'll find my family in the parks braving drops and coasters to work up our appetite to take as many snack breaks as we can. While Disneyland is our home away from home, we love trying to make a Walt Disney World Resort vacation happen at least once a year now too. All my friends know I'm the go-to for Disney advice, so I'm here to help you plan and experience the magic on your visit! Learn More About Carrie
