We're going to Disneyland in December. My son has severe food allergies which include wheat, dairy, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts and SOY. I'm SO nervous about feeding him in the park. Can we take food in just in case we can't find options?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Sarah. Thanks for stopping by with your question for us.

That's quite an extensive list of foods your son must avoid. As a Pediatric Nurse, I understand the struggles families with severe food allergies face when venturing outside their "comfort zones". The Disneyland Resort is dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable dining experience for all Guests. Prior to your arrival, I suggest contacting Disneyland Resort Special Diets at Special.Diets@disneyland.com to notify the parks of your son's dietary needs. Often times, the chefs at table service restaurants can alter recipes or create a menu that your son can enjoy, when given advance notice.

Due to your son's multiple food allergies, you are welcome to bring in food for him to enjoy. When you enter a park, just notify the Security at bag check that your son has severe food allergies. Please keep in mind, however, Cast Members are prohibited from storing, preparing, cooking, or reheating any outside food brought by Guests. There is a small kitchen with microwave and sink in the Baby Care Centers at both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.

I hope this information is helpful and reassuring for you, Sarah. Please let me know if you have further questions as you plan your upcoming trip to the Happiest Place on Earth.

    Sending you Pixie Dust,
    Kiki

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes or Disney Cruise Line voyages with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
