Hiya, Kristina! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I hope you’ve been enjoying your visit to the Disneyland Resort, and managing to stay dry! We’ve been having some
wet, rainy weather here in Southern California lately, and we’re expecting more rain this weekend.
I checked with a Cast Member, and was told that unfortunately, the Disneyland Resort doesn’t currently sell any stroller covers. However, the Disneyland Resort does sell both adult-size and child-size ponchos in the theme parks, should you need them. I’ve also seen umbrellas for sale in the parks. Typically, on rainy days, ponchos and umbrellas will be brought to the front of the shops on Main Street, U.S.A. (Disneyland Park) and on Buena Vista Street (Disney California Adventure Park). Or, you can find ponchos and umbrellas year-round at Rushin’ River Outfitters, near Grizzly River Run in Disney California Adventure Park. So, if you’d prefer to have a stroller cover, I recommend purchasing one before your arrival at the Disneyland Resort. If you plan on
renting a stroller at the Resort or won’t have time to purchase a cover ahead of time, you could purchase an adult-size poncho and use it as a makeshift stroller cover.
If you plan on bringing your own stroller, I recommend checking the dimensions ahead of time to ensure it’s no larger than 31” in width by 52” in length, per the recently-updated
Disneyland Resort Rules.
I also recommend packing layers of clothing, since the weather can change pretty quickly in Orange County. You can
rent a locker to hold an extra bag of clothes, too, so you don’t have to carry it around all day and risk it getting wet.
If you’re looking for a spot to escape the rain, I recommend heading to the
Star Wars Launch Bay and
The Disneyland Story Presenting Great Moment with Mr. Lincoln, both in Disneyland Park. In Disney California Adventure Park, my family enjoys drying off in the Disney Animation Building. We love
Turtle Talk with Crush,
Animation Academy, and
Sorcerer’s Workshop.
Stay tuned to the
Disneyland app for the latest information on possible attraction closures or
entertainment cancellations, since some parades and fireworks shows can be affected by the rain.
Best wishes for many more magical (and dry!) adventures at the Happiest Place on Earth!
Kristin
