Is Disneyland also celebrating the 50th anniversary or is it only Disney World?

    Hi Sarah!

Welcome to planDisney! We're so glad that you found us hEAR, and thank you for sending this question our way!

This is a great question, with an even better answer. Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida is currently in the middle of celebrating its 50th anniversary. Mickey decided to do this one up big and planned the party to last for a full 18 months, from October of last year until March of 2023, so there's still plenty of time to get in on the action for yourself!

Disneyland Resort, while 16 years older and not officially celebrating a milestone this yEAR, is still having a summer of fun by honoring the 50th anniversary of the Main Street Electrical Parade! This spectacle of electro-syntho-magnetic sounds and thousands of dazzling lights has been a fan favorite for generations, including my family, as my mom saw it when she was a little girl with her mom, she shared it when me in the 90s, and I've since passed on the love of this parade to my own Mouseketeer. If you're a fan of these floats, too, you'll be happy to know that the Main Street Electrical Parade 50th Anniversary merchandise collection is currently on ShopDisney.com!

While we don't know what's up Mickey's sleeve, he loves a good reason to celebrate. I've already hEARd others point out that Disney as a company turns 100 next yEAR, in 2023, so I can imagine that we'll see all kinds of limited edition food and fun at Mickey's California and Florida homes. Disneyland's 70th anniversary will be in 2025 and the 75th anniversary will be in 2030. We certainly haven't hEARd anything about those parties just yet, but if I know Mickey and Disney Adults, we love any excuse to celebrate, so keep your ears to the ground by following the Disney Parks Blog for any and all kinds of new Disney Parks news.

I hope that this helped to clEAR up your question, Sarah, and plan some Disney Days in your nEAR future!
