Hello Kamala! Thank you for bringing your great question to planDisney.
I bet you are so excited to head to the West Coast! You can begin to make your
dining reservations up to 60 days in advance, and you can do so on the Disneyland site or the
Disneyland app. There isn't an official time, but dining reservations usually become available at 6:00 AM Pacific Time, so that would be 9:00 AM Eastern Time. That is when I have had the most luck securing reservations for our trips!
I always prioritize the more popular dining reservations first when I go to book such as
Lamplight Lounge in Disney California Adventure Park,
Blue Bayou Restaurant in Disneyland Park, or any
character dining experience. I prioritize those locations first, and then move onto other dining reservations after I've secured that top choice.
Since it isn't a perfect science of when the dining reservations become available, do not give up hope if you do not see the reservation right at that time! I would keep checking throughout the morning, and for a few days after, sometimes they do not get released 60 days in advance. If you still are unable to make your reservations, you can always check the
Mobile Dine Walk-up Availability in the Disneyland app during your trip. You can check the app for availability and wait times during your visit, and hopefully your desired restaurant will be available since plans for Guests change all the time!
I am sending you all of the pixie dust that you're able to secure your dining reservations, Kamala! If you think of anything else we can help with,
please do not hesitate to come back and ask, you've got a friend in me!
Have a magical day,
Melissa
