Does Disneyland or California Adventure do fun park opening ceremonies like the WDW parks do?

    Hi, Justin!

Although Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park don’t have daily opening ceremonies like those at the theme parks of Walt Disney World, you still may want to plan to arrive a bit early to get the most out of your magical day.

On certain days, Guests are allowed partial access to the parks about 30 minutes prior to the official opening time. Most of the shops on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park or Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure Park are open, including the bakeries, so you can grab your morning cup of coffee if you like. Guests make their way down until they reach a rope that restricts access to the rest of the park. Right at opening time, music begins, a familiar voice over the speaker system welcomes everyone to “The Happiest Place on Earth,” and the rope is removed, allowing Guests to make their way to the attraction or land of their choice. Being inside the park for this “rope-drop” procedure is exciting and a great way to have a head start to the more popular attractions that often have longer queues later in the day.

Have a wonderful visit to the Disneyland Resort, Justin, and please feel free to ask me more questions as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted vacation!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
