We are going to Disneyland and would like to use our Apple Watches for genie+. My daughter who is 12 also had a magic band but does not have her own MDE account because she is a minor. How do we allow her Apple Watch to connect to her genie+ ticket?

Hello there Maria, from one Illinois resident to another!  Welcome to planDisney, thank you for bringing your great question to us.

Unfortunately, there is not Disney MagicMobile service for the Disneyland app, and you will not be able to use an Apple Watch for Disney Genie+ Service or theme park tickets.  If she has her own mobile device, that would be the best way to manage her own theme park ticket.  I recommend that she downloads the Disneyland app on her phone, and then link her theme park ticket to her app.

To link a theme park ticket, you can open up the Disneyland app, and navigate to the three horizontal bar line menu in the bottom right-hand corner and tap "Tickets and Passes."  Then tap "Link Tickets & Passes" and you can either scan the ticket barcode or type in the ticket number manually.  I do recommend having the family link all of their tickets together so you're able to make Lightning Lane selections together as a group!

I did also want to note that MagicBand and MagicBand 2 are not supported at the Disneyland Resort, only MagicBand+ is supported at the current time.  You can definitely continue to use the Disneyland app to manage your theme park tickets and Lightning Lane selections, but you will only be able to link a MagicBand+ to the Disneyland app if you'd like to use it for those functions.  There are several locations to purchase one after you arrive, I highly recommend stopping by the World of Disney store in the Downtown Disney District for a huge selection of MagicBand+ as well as a ton of other merchandise and souvenirs!

I hope this information helps answer your question, Maria!  I've taken many trips to the Disneyland Resort from the Midwest, so do not hesitate to ask me any other questions as you plan your trip.  I'm here to help!

    Wishing you a magical visit!
