Hi, Debra!
It sounds like you have a magical Disneyland Resort visit planned with your son. I love visiting the theme parks in the spring—the weather is typically great and the colorful flowers around the grounds are in full bloom! It’s sure to be a wonderful weekend of celebration for you both.
Although specific details haven’t been released yet, restaurants around the Disneyland Resort will offer special menus for Valentine's Day. Be on the lookout for limited time dining and events in the Downtown Disney District around Valentine's Day, too. Last year, there was a prix fixe menu available at Carthay Circle Restaurant, in addition to Blue Bayou, Café Orleans, Steakhouse 55 and Napa Rose. For reservations, please call (714) 781-DINE or (714) 781-3463. You will also find lots of
Valentine's Day merchandise available for purchase around the resort.
My pick for a special meal to celebrate is Carthay Circle Restaurant at Disney California Adventure Park. It’s on the second floor of the park’s reproduction of Carthay Circle Theatre, which was where Walt Disney’s
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs premiered, so the much of the restaurant’s décor pays homage to the film and Walt himself. In addition to the main dining room, private rooms can be arranged for an extra special experience. The Hyperion and Buena Vista Rooms seat two to five people and would be good choice. There are also two outdoor terraces with views of the park below. If you time it right, you may be able to enjoy the Disneyland Park fireworks during your meal!
Have a wonderful visit, Debra! Be sure to stop by City Hall and pick up a complimentary personalized birthday button for your son. Please let me know if you have more questions as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted vacation.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
