At Disneyland, are we able to meet and hug characters now? Or is it still from a distance? Thanks!

Hi Kaila! Welcome back to planDisney! Thanks so much for stopping by again and sending another great question our way!

Seeing characters at the Disneyland Resort is such a magical part of visiting! I'm happy to say that you see and hug characters again! You can also have your photo taken by a Disney PhotoPass photographer, depending on the location, and you can also get an autograph! The best way to meet and greet your favorite characters is to look for their locations in the Disneyland Mobile App. You can do this by tapping the location icon at the bottom of the screen, and then selecting "Characters" from the drop-down menu at the top. This will allow you to see, on a map, where characters are located at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park

Another way to get an up close and personal experience with characters is to consider making an advanced dining reservation for character dining. This is one of my favorite ways to see characters while having a great sit-down meal during our park time. A tip I have for you is to always be on the lookout for characters that are strolling down Main Street, U.S.A., or in Fantasyland. You never know when you might run into Cruella de Vil looking for dalmatians or Peter Pan teasing Captain Hook! One of my family's favorite memories is when Alice and the Mad Hatter joined us on the Mad Tea Party

    Happy Planning!
